H Ronald Schagrin, CLU®, ChFC®, CPA, CFP®Financial Advisor Ron joined Northwestern Mutual Financial Network as a Financial Representative in 1993. Ron has the distinction of being both a college intern and a career changer. As an undergraduate majoring in insurance and accounting, he interned with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network during his senior year, but opted to continue his education. Earning a MBA Ron's career has involved: financial consulting with a top public accounting firm, corporate accounting and finance with a Fortune 100 company, and commercial/institutional real estate investment advisory work. Upon re-examining both career and personal goals, Ron explored various options in the financial services industry. The reputation, quality and integrity of Northwestern Mutual, as well as their philosophy of having financial representatives operate their own practice/business were what led him back to his current career path. He graduated from Western Illinois University with a Major in Communications, and a Minor in Management Marketing. John SikarasFinancial Representative John Sikaras has been a Financial Representative with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network since 2000. John had been working at the same time with a Northwestern Mutual Financial Network Representative, Bret Hartung. After expressing his dissatisfaction with his current direction, Bret suggested coming to work for the Network. John has been with the company ever since, and has never looked back. He enjoys the beauty they create. Jeff SonsField Director As a junior at the University of Illinois, majoring in Finance, Jeff Sons knew that an internship experience was essential to finding a good career with a reputable organization. During his internship search, he was introduced to a family friend, Scott Carr, who was a Managing Director for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. In talking with Scott, a former college representative, Jeff knew the experience would be a great opportunity to learn if financial services would be a good fit for his long-term career objectives. It’s not common that a recent college graduate has the opportunity to become an entrepreneur. Jeff feels the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network approach in working with clients is one that mirrors his own values, which was a direct reason why he chose to join the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. Jeff truly feels that the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network has provided a great opportunity not only for himself, but also his wife and their three children.
Vincent Spinosa, CLU®Financial Advisor Kevin StrohlCollege Unit Director Robert R StyrkowiczFinancial Representative Bob has been a Financial Representative with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network since 1999. He became interested in our company while attending a job fair during his junior year at Illinois State University. Coming from a long line of Financial Advisors the choice seemed natural. Bob graduated with a Bachelor of Science in finance the next year. After taking the summer to travel and enjoy his post school life, Bob got to work and began his career with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. Bob has worked hard and grown personally and professionally, taking on new responsibilities and rolls within the company. He now is a Field Director as well as a Financial Representative, and mentors new representatives in their career paths. Jennifer T VigonFinancial Representative Andrew WegnerFinancial Representative Thomas WhiteFinancial Representative Before becoming a Northwestern Mutual Financial Network Representative with The Carr Group, Tom White worked with collegiate and professional hockey players as an independent sports agent. Though Tom achieved success while serving as an advisor to athletes and their families, he found the travel requirements particularly grueling. In order to scout and represent talented athletes, Tom found himself on the road more than 21 days a month, and knew that he could not keep pace with this lifestyle long term. What Tom didn’t know was that he himself was being “scouted” by his friend and now fellow Representative with The Carr Group of Northwestern Mutual, Bret Hartung. While playing in a competitive men’s hockey league together in Chicago, Bret admired the way that Tom guided his athletes and their families. Bret broached the idea of a career change with Tom. After several discussions with Bret and others within The Carr Group, Tom was convinced that this was exactly the opportunity he was looking for; the ability to serve as a trusted financial professional to others while maintaining the independence and flexibility that he enjoyed. Now that Tom no longer has to spend the bulk of his time traveling, he has had the opportunity to become more involved in the Chicagoland community. In particular, Tom sits on the board of the Emmett Steele Memorial Foundation and volunteers on behalf of the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer Foundation. “And yes,” says Tom with a smile, “I even find time to still play hockey!” Michael Wright, CPA, CLU®, ChFC®, CFP®Financial Advisor Micky graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN with a degree in Accounting. His career began in public accounting for Arthur Andersen in Chicago. His clients include real estate investment trusts (REIT), commodity futures trading companies, mutual fund retailers, hotels, telecom companies and a large university. It was there that he refined his skill for helping clients create and analyze financial statements that the public would ultimately rely on. He also realized that he was very disconnected from the very people he was working to benefit. It was at this point that he decided to begin a career in financial planning. Micky presently lives in Lisle, IL with his wife, Debbi, and his children, Kyle and Avery.
